Rise to fame
Nancy rise to fame started as soon as she got her license, as Nancy was the first Australian woman to become a commercially- licensed pilot. When Nancy bought her own plane in 1938 she started to get noticed by many different people because for many people it was their first time seeing a plane let alone seeing a women pilot driving it. Nancy also went to many pageants throughout NSW, pormoting aviation and taking passengers into the skies. She was known as 'Angel of the Outback' for her work with the Far West Children's Health Scheme, as she worked in an ambulance..
