Milestones of Nancy Bird Walton
1915 16th October- Nancy was born
- born in Kew, New South Wales, Australia.
1927 15th June- Nancy left school
- she left school early to work at her fathers general store.
1928 13th August- Nancy's first time flying
- Nancy was 13 years old when she flew for the first time while in an air pageant, she even paid the pilot extra to do some acrobatics.
1933 16th September- Goes to flying school
- She was taught by Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith, the first man to fly across the mid-Pacific.
1938 14th September- Nancy met Reverend Stanley Drummond
- He wanted her to help set up a flying medical service in outback New South Wales.
1938 4th December- Her first plane
- First time some people had seen a plane, let alone a female pilot
1939- Married
- married an Englishman Charles Walton, and had two children.
1950 -she founded the Australian Women Pilots' Association
-president for 40 years.
1967 16th November-Nancy giving up flying
- Nancy had given up flying because of her age but was still working and trying hard to keep all of her planes neat and clean.
1967 16th November -2009 13th January- Nancy looked after her planes
- In this time Nancy had already given up her license to fly but is still wanting to go to her back shed and giving all of her planes a good touch up or just a dust.
2009 13th January- Nancy's death
- She died at the age of 94
